Dr Surabhi Choudhary Consultant Radiologist

Dr Surabhi Choudhary is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospitals, University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust. Surabhi has a special interest in diagnostic imaging and imaging guided treatment of diseases of the bones and joints including shoulders, hands, hips, knees and feet. This includes imaging (X-rays, CT, Ultrasound scan and MRI scans) of joints and musculoskeletal disorders including painful conditions, lumps, tendon overuse, post traumatic pain and arthritis.

Surabhi completed her Radiology training on the London and Leicester training schemes, followed by fellowships in Musculoskeletal Radiology in Oxford and Oswestry. She has worked as a full time NHS Consultant at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham since 2009, where she was the lead for Musculoskeletal and Trauma imaging until Jan 2023. She has wide teaching, research and governance expertise in Radiology. Her research interest is in musculoskeletal and trauma imaging, with over 25 publications in peer reviewed journals. She has been involved in the development of imaging pathways for primary care over the last decade, and has pioneered novel minimally invasive radiofrequency ablation treatment for Morton’s neuroma at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
